How to read this

Find out how we use, assess and govern AI responsibly. This statement aligns with the Digital Transformation Agency’s (DTA) Policy for the responsible use of AI in government.

AMSA does not use AI for any decision making that impacts external stakeholders.

We use AI internally in limited scenarios:

  • using generative AI to create, draft and summarise content for internal productivity purposes
  • running a limited pilot to assess an AI capability that enhances the effectiveness of call centre operators and their ability to service our stakeholders.

How we govern and assess AI use

AMSA’s Information and Data Governance Committee (IDGC) is responsible for the on-going review and risk assessment of the adoption and use of AI for business purposes that affect staff, customers and external stakeholders.

Through the IDGC, AMSA will develop processes to ensure:

  • use of AI is appropriately governed
  • application and use of AI is appropriate, safe and responsible
  • our staff, customers and stakeholders have trust in our usage of AI technology and processes
  • risks of using AI within our business systems are identified and addressed
  • access and usage of AI across all services within AMSA are appropriately monitored.

Keeping the public informed

As the technology of AI matures and as AMSA progressively assesses opportunities to leverage AI effectively for customer related processes, we will update this statement to outline our AI use.
